Image for the poem Beastly

Beastly

The cold wind blows against the tower
From the salt of tears shed nightly
Trapped within this nightmare
Of the beast’s devising
The darkness is turning under the stairs

Waiting...
For the return of one so loved
When the bell chimes shrilly
Is it the first or last?
Who dares to walk the pass?

The days and nights blend together
With the air thick with the blood smell
The ravenous feedings
Sick sounds when the bones snap
Lo, but there will be no happy ending

Beastly...
Dearly remains of one so loved
When the bell chimes clearly
Is it the first or last?
What stalks in shadows cast?

The time, it seems to have come now
The sound of claws on the stairway
Still throbbing of the heart
But when the bolt is thrown
And Belle is there to tear Adam apart

Feasting...
On ripe flesh of foolish love
When the Belle chimes beastly
This is far from the last
For the beast of ancient past
