Suicide's Kiss
**March 20th 1996**
Posting due to a dear friend. I was suffering with post pardum at the time.
Many battle this. No matter what your personal battle is, just remember there is a better tomorrow.
Oh sweet temptress
You daily call my name
Every second and minute of the day
Luring me to my end with your kiss
Your elegant nightly lullaby
Sings out the sweet dreams of death
Tucking me into a perfect slumber
Offering an end to pain I won't miss
Wrap me in your warm embrace
Carry me away to my demise
Putting an end to this eternal suffering
In your eyes I'm not some one to just dismiss

Re: Suicide's Kiss
This, in my opinion is your best poem yet. It's deep, painful and dark. It has substance Belle. Good write.

Lilsouthernbelle, luv :-* ~
I have been here. I have walked this road and it is bleak and desolate. Those post-pregnancy hormones are not trifling things. They will do things to you that are astonishing in their ferocity...and horrifying.
Living through postpartum depression is no joke and I am glad you made it. And, shared your journey.
This poem is stark and real and intense, much like the journey. One of the things I find most poignant about it is your last line where you reference the idea that the postpartum depression, while horrific, is the only one not dismissing you. I think I understand that because sometimes during that time, it seems as though everyone dismisses the new mother and her concerns as just concerns that every new mother has rather than realizing something real and serious and different might be going on.
Anyway, this poem feels so full of depth and spirit and, finally, triumph because you survived. :-*

There is so much pain written in this poem, it's as if your very soul has gone in to writing this. I am happy that you survived through this ordeal and I hope that your life will be filled with happiness from now on.

although tragic in nature I still find this very beautiful, you have a way of conveying hope and passion with your words, great ink.

Good Morning Belle...I am just reading this for the first time and it packs a real powerful punch especially in light of the tragic news about Robin Williams...it might be timely to re-post this one for many more reads and comments...just an idea...please be safe and well...thanks and take care...Jimbo
