My best friends
So much on my mind but no words on my tongue
Hard to scribble onto this page because my hands have gone numb
Like my body and brain, what more can I say?
Like everyone else, conformist in my own way
A beautiful face is not worth my time
Lest he deciphers the lost code behinds these rhymes
Graphite seems to breathe feeling, whispers you cant hear
White paper drinks up the salty, wet tears
The life that I made lies just under this page
And with the insight one could read on for days
Pencil meets parchment and they kiss their greetings
Only these characters can set me free
Just blank space between the lines, nothing to read
Yet that unwritten message is all that I need
Who knew lifeless objects could be so understanding?
That pencil and paper are the only friends worth having
Hard to scribble onto this page because my hands have gone numb
Like my body and brain, what more can I say?
Like everyone else, conformist in my own way
A beautiful face is not worth my time
Lest he deciphers the lost code behinds these rhymes

White paper drinks up the salty, wet tears
The life that I made lies just under this page
And with the insight one could read on for days
