had to die

This shall be the last poem posted from the Port Hopeless era! (except for a few song lyrics to be posted later on)
It is, in its' vulgar simplicity, my favourite poem from that time. A small salmon-spawning river ran up alongside near my apartment building back then. One day I got a fisherman to snare me one of the slimy old bastards making his way up to the happy mud ponds of material deliverance.
Frickin thing tasted like dirt and radiation, but I gulped most of it down over the winter, and left the remainder, bones and entrails to the seagulls and crows.
It's all part of my ecological morality - you have to be mindful of your caloric intakes - not to gain too much off of Nature for the unhindered propulsions of your unnatural recreational activities, bringing further ruin unto the Earth. Perhaps I will reveal these essays of mine, and hopefully you won't have to read them...

Well, I suppose I ought not to bad mouth the meat in my freezer and frying pan... Perhaps the salmon was an esteemed gentle nobleman among his kin. And he was a glorious form of life. I gave the proper prayers and respects at the time...
It's just that a large old fish who has been around a few rounds in a heavily polluted freshwater lake with a uranium enrichment facility nearby just doesn't taste good!
As for talk of posting essays, I rescind my earlier comments. There will be no such thing! There can be nothing more worse and over-done than angry young men posting their dreary manifestos about conceptual socio-economic utopias on the internet...
