Darkest time
To say that I was depressed,
Puts some description to it.
I began to wish for death.
I began to let myself slip.
I hit the rock hard bottom
Of my heart, having been
Drained of all warmth
Cold tears started a din,
Began filling the emptiness.
I began to wonder who I was,
I tried to gather self, it was hard.
It's hard to capture self when
It runs because you mean it harm.
I could never gather the courage
To peirce my skin,
Or lean over too far.
Though I was curious,
Curiosity did not kill the man.
A heart broken man.
A heart broken boy.
Trauma describes it as well
It was an psychological pain
Deep, as space itself
Wide as it was deep.
The only thing to hold on to
Was God.
My trust and belief
Helped me. Faith.
Even when I felt I'd list the will
To the end, He held me still.
