Cliche Darling
Is bloodied fists
raging against the pain
that cranks out broken limbs
leaving casualties everywhere
finger nails chewed to the nub
dreaming of your phantom voice
a dull ache you can't erase
haunting my memory
you left me wanting
cliché I know
these empty feelings
a cold blanket I take comfort in
raging against the pain
that cranks out broken limbs
leaving casualties everywhere
finger nails chewed to the nub
dreaming of your phantom voice
a dull ache you can't erase
haunting my memory
you left me wanting
cliché I know
these empty feelings
a cold blanket I take comfort in

Fair Lass, your words are always compelling and masterfully written.
There are few things worse than a broken heart, crumbled and cold, no blanket capable of providing warmth.
Sending you a warm, comforting embrace. XO

the prime function of a blanket is to provide warming comfort, & it always delivers.
