Cough Syrup

You didn't listen to your cynical friends. You thought Of course we’ll stay together because our love is stronger than the cliches. Well it didn't, did it? It ended as soon as it started. The silk wrap you thought were holding on to was but a diminutive, useless thread. Welcome to the club of ignorantly in love, no matter what we think, no we thought, that each and everyone person we meet and love will stay forever by your side. Of course though the cynics, not excluding myself, have the bitter (and never sweet) grasp of truth. There are about 7 million people in the world and you had to meet the one that fooled you like so many before. They tricked you with shiny objects disguised as poison daggers to your heart but of course they didn't mean to because they still love you. Is that what they told you? If they really loved you they would fight until blood spills for you because when you are in love that’s what you’re supposed to do right? Well they didn't because you’re over here drinking cough syrup and trying to make the pain go away. Well bottoms up because you my sad pathetic friend have found a drinking buddy.
