suitcases
Suitcases look like homelessness
I've never been one for travelling
Without a plan
And these zippers speak of change
I've slept in more beds than years I've lived
Hands becoming chains
Less to hold
More to drag my disembodied mind
Through airports I dont remember
Hotel rooms remind me
Of hospital beds;
Impersonal
And I struggle to sleep in either
Some days I fear
I've chosen comfort over freedom
Though I'm not sure I've ever been free
These suitcases look like one foot out the door
These zippers look like change
Only adventure awaits
On the other side
