Whenever I receive anything, it promptly gets ripped away
I distrust it always
I know it is coming
I will not get to keep this
But I live in hope, always hope
That things will work this once
But inevitably as I relax
All gets reduced to ash
In a second I have it all
The next there’s nothing left
I learn you see, so slowly
Nothing is meant for me
Everything I touch must be ripped away
Everything I love is never mine anyway
If I find it precious
It will crash and burn
If I find joy in it
It will be ash before you know it
And if I am not meant to have good at all
It must mean that I must be forever alone
So that my curse will never touch another
I distrust it always
I know it is coming
I will not get to keep this
But I live in hope, always hope
That things will work this once
But inevitably as I relax
All gets reduced to ash
In a second I have it all
The next there’s nothing left
I learn you see, so slowly
Nothing is meant for me
Everything I touch must be ripped away
Everything I love is never mine anyway
If I find it precious
It will crash and burn
If I find joy in it
It will be ash before you know it
And if I am not meant to have good at all
It must mean that I must be forever alone
So that my curse will never touch another
