Conversations With The Mind - This Thing Called Pain

When I see the light of day
I think "Where is tomorrow?"
How many seconds pass through the worlds sorrow?
Like a sea of troubles passed from generation to generation
Songs of the birds are no more then songs of the dead
My blindness is only matched by my will to see
No one person can tell me how to be alive
Too many can tell me how to love
One can show me the way
Millions can show me the darkness
The darkness in my heart, in everyones
All of them can fuck off
I feel sick to my stomach at the thought
Why does something like love hurt so bad?
How can something we love become what we hate?
Or vice versa, crushed by this inertia
Someone in the world is dying right now
Someone is not living life at this moment
Someone is depressed or heartbroken at this moment
My eyes turn black and my eye lids become a world
Another dimension where only mania exists
Worst case scenario is we are too happy
Where people commit suicide and never love
Where people die alone
Tears control our lives
Living controls our happiness
Love controls the heart
While a little girl sits and cries
While a full grown man misses the woman who took everything he gave
While an old woman misses her husband who passed
We are universally tied together by this
Religion isn't the only thing we share
We worship pain and pray for happiness
We die
