Can't Go Farther Than Friendship...

He looks at me and smiles,
But I can only turn my face�
He holds my hand in his�
Trying to see my reaction�
But it�s all the same�
I feel a slight pain of guilt�
As he slowly traces the lines on my palm�
I can tell there�s more than friendship on his mind�
But I can never go that far�
I have the love of my life by my side,
No one else is ever on my mind�
I wish he wouldn�t be so loving�
He knows I�m with another�
But it�s like he�s fighting for something that isn�t there�
When my eyes lock in with his�
I wonder all the things running through his head.
We can only be friends�
Yet he tries so hard for it to be more�
He gets close and holds me in his arms�
I feel calm�but at the same time I feel guilt�
I see him as a friend�how could he think more?...
It hurts to think I�m going to have to break another heart�
But it just can�t be�
My heart belongs to another�
No matter what happens� I will never deceive my lover�
