Addicted To Society
Am I a slave to this poverty.
This hunger of my personality.
That desire to have verbal equity..
I'm just another addict to society.
She spent my childhood preparing me to hate being alone..
To never do things on my own..
She made sure I'm sad without society..
But I'm glad.
I'm not bound by shackles of verbal equity.
I'm still glad, she's mad about what she had..
To often she asked me "why"?
Why am I not the precious parcel of person people pass in..
To surpass the subduing smack of smile on thou infinitely subduing face..
No thank you society!
I'll rather hide behind my jokes.
I'm not another one of your folks.
I'll remain lyrically sarcastic.
Because my heart is made of plastic.
But this poem is not about her, not about us, and not about society.
It is about living in submission!!..
About how one person begs for social admission.
How a person seeks permission.
From the top of the so called social food chain.
It is about how we do not see we are bound by these chains.
It is about when I manage to dismount this social train.
And find myself at the next station waiting to be wanted.
One person just can not break this bond to society.
But I promise you, one person will bend this bond to society.
I'm just another rebellious slave to society.
This hunger of my personality.
That desire to have verbal equity..
I'm just another addict to society.
