Image for the poem He was a  Dancer

He was a  Dancer

the twirls of her skirts
on the dance floor
scents of illusive perfume
from her dimpled knee
mesmerised him

the curves of her breasts
as she slowly pirouette
the waves of her arms
reaching out to the flashing lights
enchanted him

the smell of a woman
breathing in the night
flushed, smouldering eyes
looking deep inside
his erotic mind

touches of fire in his veins
caresses like heat of ember
seeping into his skin
amalgamated his soul
into a pool of wet heat

she danced into him
around him, wrapped him
in her womanly folds
she danced into his heart
splintering him into heaven

cascades of silvery confetti
gently falling down to earth
he woke to sun in his eyes
an empty bottle in his hand
with bitter bile in his mouth

"long ago, and though so far away..
I fell in love with you...."
the song ran through his head
he was all danced out
but the melody remained.
