settling for self destrution

I can't take another second
sink it in
blood runs down
the red stains
are setting in
the more I do
the more I want
the more I want
the more I need
the more I need
the further it goes
squeezing
clench the air

things get to real
inside make-belief
the fix isn't enough
to settle the craving

the fix did the damage
the repair failed
but never felt so good
I love the failures
they settle the cracks
in an unstable foundation
that sits on uneasy grounds
when it all gives way
there'll be a price to pay
and quite the mess to clean
