Reincarnation

 
the bums sit on the stoop  
asking for cigarettes
sipping distilled dharma  
through the soap scum
 
the bathtub churns a single cell
it splits exponentially  
creating every conception
until man is made, unit of time
 
the drain is the sinner and savior  
starting at spigot, while ending
where all water assembles  
into a line, disappearing to dot
 
the echo from the liquid ouroboros  
evaporates the initiate into union
until the heat from forgotten name
massages the back of the bather
