The Key

Like Rafiki in his prime
I go there
You don’t understand
The writings on the wall
Translated
Your eyes dilated
Scorched with truth
Cornea reshaped
Rods geometrically
Pupils enlightened
Let me see the light of your eyes
I got something to show you
Simba
I call you by name, a new name
Angels can’t sang
I am Him
That called you out of the darkness of your mind
Light up the darkness
With the truth of my love
I have called thee
See, while your ancestors obeyed and stumbled
I won’t cause your foot to slip
If you keep this word on your lip
I am He
That anoints thee
The rod of Aaron
I’ve given thee
To lead these…my people to their destiny
A land of milk and honey ideally
But was interpreted mistakenly
See, this journey may not move you physically
So don’t be dismayed at what you see in your community
There’s work to be done right where you are
From New Orleans to New York City
And all the rural towns in between
I haven’t forgotten thee
Trust me, trust in me
As I believe…in you
Before your creation in the womb
I blessed you, count the stars
I placed each in your heart
So shine bright-ly
From inside, I got you…
Like Mufasa in his youth
I revealed in you, your place in the circle of life
To lead, to teach, to die
But not before time…is up
We got work to do
So don’t be dismayed at what the look of the community
Lack of resources, money
No passion, no nothing…
I got you
Owner of a thousand cattle on a thousand hills
I am He that called you by name, a new name
Angels can’t sang
So while it’s day, do your work
In the fields, in the cities…I mean it
Even in the jungles, while its day
Rise early, enriched with new mercy…work
This fire, this passion that’s in thee
And don’t forsake me when the harvest is plenty
Be studious like that ant
And show love to that silly grasshopper
He don’t know we’ve prepared a storehouse for him and his mother
While it’s day…work
Like Sarabi, play your part
Not for glory or fame
But assist and encourage, your men
Bless and live an example for your women
Of a few words but powerful nevertheless
A mirage
An ideal made reality
The power I’ve placed within you
Your essence, your aura, and when,
Tragedy strikes, lead the fight, I got you
A pillar of strength for all those around you
Again see, the vision I’ve given thee
Eat, drink, and be merry in the meanwhile
It’ll all make sense one day but today…
Seek me, like Rafiki in his prime
I hold the key to Zion…
