Cast Away
Do you wanna go on a journey with me?
Hand in hand
Write our names in the sand
Of this life
Do you wanna go with me?
Distant lands
And fairy tale places
Camelot and Terabithia
A mystery…ahh
Do you wanna see with me?
Where that tiny ship in a bottle goes?
To the depths…through the calm
Ingested and regurgitated in the bellies of sea beasts
To the heights of island tops
The edge to me
I know I’m not alone
In this world of solitude
Call me crazy
A coconut on a stick
I made a friend
To the end
Cast away
Rejected of men
Call me crazy
Hair untamed, eyebrows unkempt
Call me crazy
Talking to the seagulls around me
The little nature that sustains me
Propels me
To go back
There’s nothing wrong with going back in our minds
To a foretime
Before twitter and Pinterest vigor
Simply
To live and love
Self and others
Call me crazy?
When all I see is processed foods causing obesity
Children know those golden arches better than their ABC’s
123’s
Now listen to me
To each their own
But I’m tryna own, something
My land, that’s an inheritance see?
Something greater…that doesn’t require a signature
But the insignia etched in stone
Who the builders refused
It is the lord’s doing and it’s marvelous in our sight
My sight
To see clearly what’s before me
Call me crazy?
I’m not flashy just wanna be me
Take care of responsibilities
My seed
I only birthed one
But the first born of many
To do the Master’s work
While I master this work
If he doesn’t deliver me out of the fiery course served me
I still won’t bow down to thee
Man-made kings, robed in man’s authority
I still won’t bow
Because He’s right here with me
Son of Man forgive me
But you’re right there with me
Call me crazy but I’m not alone in this moment of solitude
Pour the cup up
Just don’t forsake me
These observations are just one of a regular Tuesday
Speed racing, chasing a dollar
Seek the vision, He’ll make the provision
So I can humbly state…No worries
So…
Do you wanna go with me?
Hand in hand
Write our names in the sand of this life?
Don’t be afraid
We’re here but for a moment
But have the promise of life forever…eternally
Hand in hand
Write our names in the sand
Of this life
Do you wanna go with me?
