Some Dreams Are Self Defeating
The truth is that me plus you
Equals heart break.
Because I was never one
To shake off the taste
Of yesterdays broken promises.
So don't tempt the hands on my watch
Until your soul
Has lived
The toll
Of two life's.
For you persist
In the wondering Iris
Of she who holds
Nothing close
To serenity.
So why would I try
To fly
In a sky
Littered with no
Peace of mind
If time could never be on our sides
Then fuck flying
I choose to sink
And never swim
With dreams
That devour men
Whole.
