The Fear of Falling
I am a lover with wings,
Who falls but never lands.
I ache to be broken
By the impact
Of a thousands suns.
Crater my body with intimacy.
Bombard me with sincerity.
Bruise my wings until I hit the floor
Like a star you wished upon.
For men like I possess lessons to learn.
Scars to gain.
Names to be embedded
In the rhythms that
Beat beat beat in the crevices
Of our chests
We bleed affection.
We quiver under the light of the moon.
We fear the things we could never understand
We fear, Falling.
Who falls but never lands.
I ache to be broken
By the impact
Of a thousands suns.
Crater my body with intimacy.
Bombard me with sincerity.
Bruise my wings until I hit the floor
Like a star you wished upon.
For men like I possess lessons to learn.
Scars to gain.
Names to be embedded
In the rhythms that
Beat beat beat in the crevices
Of our chests
We bleed affection.
We quiver under the light of the moon.
We fear the things we could never understand
We fear, Falling.
