Inverse skies
Softly and slowly
the clouds white out the sky
turning the nightly heavens to snow
a reverse landscape
that raises up its escaped children
in the evaporation of rain
falling on angels
The desire is as solid as stone
statues kissing in an eternal embrace
while their insides melt in liquid pain
the divorce of the soul
screaming for release
from the pleasures
they bind themselves to
I’ve seen the way it ends
it’s not in fire and it’s not in ice
but in silence under inverse skies
clouds like snow
and rain falling in reverse
to dust and bones
flowers growing out from
the remains of our ribcages
upended in the ground
