Dawn light rays on window panes
playing patterns on the floor
peeking through curtains frilly edges
like little imps at play
the sun rays bring another day

Yellow sun and breezy air
turns the mind to yesteryears
when youth lends vigour
with a heart that's eager
to live out rainbowed adventure

youth stumbles rambles blunders
tweak out smiles of lined faces
crows feet and frown lines
depicts such experiences
learning lessons on shifting sand

Another new year comes
a round of drinks
and wish thee well
