I'LL NEVER
I’ll never be
considered dangerous
though I sail on dangerous seas
I’ll never strike
fear in another
for intimidation
I am not wired
I’ll never make
a good liar
with a transparent
countenance of guilt
am I cursed
or blessed
I’ll never deny
a soul it’s freedom
we were born to soar
else why give us wings
and a limitless sky?
I’ll never choose
violence to express
my frustration, anger
I am no pacifist
possessed I am
with a fierce
desire for justice
yet I am neither an aggressor
I will never bruise
or beat to subject
another to my will, desire
or to teach a lesson
to do so is to wreck
a masterpiece
by deity designed
and manufactured
in a mother’s womb
I am tender hearted
by deeply felt emotion
overcome at times
some may say a wimp
at most a bore
I will always be me
a sometimes wise man, a poet
such is the *quintessence
of my dust
* Nod to Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”

I chose to go back in time and read your first poem. What a beautiful human you are, I particularly loved the imagery for this stanza
