A Slowing of Time
Time slows.
And my age shows.
As my time comes to pass.
Towards breathing my last.
As I carry my life’s load.
With happiness I am bestowed.
I will go with my head held high.
Not wanting to know why.
Death is only a start.
We must all depart.
Valhalla beckons.
And clocks tick their seconds.
Everything turns to grey.
No night or day.
Walking towards the light.
Losing the final fight.
All worlds waiting to implode.
Time is never slowed
The dust of the road unsealed.
Mixes with the mud of the field.
To my fate I yield.
My belief is my shield.
All mysteries revelled.
Truths sword to wield.
Coin in pocket.
And my life’s memories in a locket.
Onward with deaths mix.
Across the river Styx.
