Reflections
I lived in my shell
Uncomfortable and unconformed
I wanted to be like the others
A beautiful social butterfly
As word spread through the vines
Shapes started to form
Those I saw about
Started approaching me
Their faces all contorted
With wretched smiles
And delightful tones
This is not what I saw before
So I retreat to my shadows
And rainy dark nights
Sheltered in my self pity
Sheltered in the perfect life
Uncomfortable and unconformed
I wanted to be like the others
A beautiful social butterfly
As word spread through the vines
Shapes started to form
Those I saw about
Started approaching me
Their faces all contorted
With wretched smiles
And delightful tones
This is not what I saw before
So I retreat to my shadows
And rainy dark nights
Sheltered in my self pity
Sheltered in the perfect life
