CHRISTMAS FOLLY

CHRISTMAS FOLLY  ©

Here we go again…
Anticipating celebrating…
And preparing for intoxicating
Getting in the mood as we brood…
In expectancy of food
Children… girls and boys…
Looking forward to their toys
Father Christmas coming soon…
He’ll be flying past the moon

Happy and hopping…
And everybody’s shopping
Great big Dolly in the trolley…
And a special card for Molly
Wrapping paper and balloons…
Knives and forks and silver spoons
Tins of toffees and Xmas trees…
Bags of shopping aching knees

Turkey crowns dressing gowns…
Breakfast kippers and brand new slippers
Whiskey Rum and Brandy shorts…
Knock them back when watching sports
Neighbours flaunt their outside lights…
As pubs and clubs prepare for fights
Doctors and nurses bless them all…
You’ll need them when you’re drunk and fall

The first Noel the angels did sing…
Was a song by Chuck Berry called My Ding a ling

Good King Wenslas last looked out on the feast of Steven…
But he stayed indoors because the roads were so uneven

Jingle Bells Jingle Bells jingle all the way…
Oh what fun to eat and drink and fart the night away
