poetry should always be romantic
(Inspired by: 'Death is a secret. A love letter from hope.' Audeamus)
Hope held out, because that’s what she does.
It’s not in her nature to give up. clouds with
silver linings, four-leaf clovers, rainbows after
the rain: these were all her inventions.
But even Hope’s rope is not infinite, and just as
she was nearing the ragged end of it, she noticed
a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows;
dark, and somehow sexy.
A few correspondences later,
she knew she had found her mate,
because once Death has you
he never lets you go…

Hope will always be my very favorite word in the English language, even with Death lurking at every corner...

So few certainties - hope and death among them. *love* this poem. Perfect as is but would have read pages had it gone on.

Hope and Death compliment each in a utter contrast, inasmuch as, that it blinds the spirit into eternities grasp :) Adore this, John

You take conventional wisdom and kick it in it's butt! Then again, wisdom does contain much subjectivity...
Very much a classic write.
