Galactic Paroxysm
Metal snowflakes spin down, ninja stars
from a judging sky. Venusian rain
is savior of none, but acid.
Mercurial days fleet past in flashes
of spurious life forms pleading survival.
Rocks plummet, tearing heaven's thin shimmers.
Hail diamonds flash, a lightening birth
spins into Saturnine stratosphere; sooted plunge
finds death in perdition's liquid core.

Ultimate unhinging of the Universe....a galactic apocalypse ....
This almost reads as a metaphor for our own end of days---armageddon. Your sci-fy pieces are among my favs, my friend---this being no exception!
Your unique surrealsitic imagery is incredible--

Chilling, Atakti!

Why thank you, Dark Enchantress! It's more science than fiction, though. Extreme weather conditions on Venus and other planets - I saw an article and was inspired.
I did throw in some darkness, lol, no surprise there...
Thank you for the list add, I'm honored.

The video adds just that much more to an already great poem... the images and music and of course, the voice... suited this perfectly.
Still want more planets... =)

Atakti you have a gift with finding the right words to fit in your abstract painting, this can be interpreted so many ways but I'm just going to enjoy this galactic masterpiece the way its intended.

I sit around & imagine what the weather is like on other worlds all the time. The Universe is a violent thing. A most beautifully treacherous glimpse, Atakti...

Oh, thanks for that, Butch... Those ninja stars are just a lil sign of blood lust slipping through, quite apt for a violent, beautiful universe...

Atakti, this is a stella universe you've painted with a spray can and glitter.
That opening line was like a ninja star to the head and by the end I'm seeing flickering stars with lines that jump out like solar flares.
I love getting swept away in your descriptions, they're so beautifully intricate and yet powerful. Great work!!!

It's a pleasure to see your rich feedback and perspective as the reader... I thank you.

This is one superb vid, probably his best (imho) so far. He keeps getting better with each project and to think there's just few days in between each project!! wow Case will you be around in few months or we'll be seeing your name rolling off of some action movie credits?! Remember us when you get rich and famous ;)
Atakti, your poem was great before and now its in a class of its own. Congratz to both of you, you make a good team!!

this is wonderful...the write is concentrated and potent, as is most of your work.
It lends itself, and loves, the white of the page. And Case brought it into a rounder dimension . His production is very well layered, conceived, and realized... My only thought on this is that it is too short, and that is only because that realm that you write and he storyboards for, is big and immersive and I feel like I'm just truly pulled in and then it ends... A small thing, and a sign to me of this working well
Thank you, certainly look forward to where both of you diligent poets might go

Thank you for the detailed thoughts on this, lb, as well as the heads up towards our videos on the 'recite each other' thread - I appreciate it.
This is one of my poems that I enjoyed writing immensely, so when Case agreed to a trailer I knew it would elevate this write into a showpiece.
I see what you mean about short - on my side, no matter my efforts, the ink gets edited to precise brevity, as you noted, lol.
Thanks, lb!

I'm not sure of the focus of it, but it does have a dark well drawn out feel to it. It's creative,I think the voice effect takes a little away from it though.
Hope my feedback helped.
