My Poisonous Pen
My poisonous quill
committing crimes on paper
letting my demons escape
into the ether
letting them use my mind
to plant seeds of destruction
sprouting ugly thoughts
in the brains
they are planted in
I felt wretched the day before
so I let my ink bleed
the monster that was plaguing me
death is his name
with his putrid breath
filling the nostrils of the vulnerable
I feel so much guilt today
like a woman awaiting the gallows
knowing hell will be her pay
for the life she's lived
cast off from the vine
because she's bitter fruit
glorifying my past
filtering out all the ugly
remembering only the fun
on the streets of decay
when will I learn
to keep it one hundred
be happy with my new life
grateful to the powers that be
who delivered me from death
showed me mercy when I deserved none
man what a mixed up bitch I am
so don't take a page from my book
it was written with a poisonous pen
committing crimes on paper
letting my demons escape
into the ether
letting them use my mind
to plant seeds of destruction
sprouting ugly thoughts
in the brains
they are planted in
I felt wretched the day before
so I let my ink bleed
the monster that was plaguing me
death is his name

filling the nostrils of the vulnerable

When we scribe with poison ink, we must take care not to prick ourselves with the tips of our quills. Quite the cautionary tale. There is danger in your words. Which means they were much enjoyed, of course.

It's not easy to accept parts of ourselves but they are all parts of us, which makes us whole, as fractured as it may seem.
Your pen is not poisonous Brenda it flows with brilliance of truth.

But then there are the days that you write a new book, with hope for the future and letting go of the past.
Well written, Brenda.

Never feel shame for gleaming the "good stuff" out of the bad...and don't let a moral compass eat You-it will dissolve what all is good...sinking into thinking all of You is wrong...don't let normalcy be an imprisonment-
just tell me to shut the hell up already Brenda :D
A perfect Write to devils and Angels here (some of my favourite things to do in my past...my body and mind can no longer physically accept...but I like waving at the ship from time to time ;)

"I already know I'm going to hell. At this point, it's really just go big or go home" - unknown
When the read comes across like something you've felt, known, or somehow identify with... I can't describe how easily it slips into the mind. You did it with this one. Your wording is Fantastic though, only the feeling is familiar. Greatly enjoyed this, Crimsin, thank you for sharing it!

And how our guilt can manifest, like a self-fulfilling-prophecy.
Great write Crim, keep bleeding in ink and try not to feel guilty for expressing from within. :)
