Love for being unloved

I went to a party last night.
Beer vodka and music, the norm.
With beer was games, pong.
With vodka was regrets, shots.
With music was dance, life.

I didn't want to be incapacitated,
So I drank little from them.
I didn't want her to regret it,
So I gave her fun from problems

I took her away from her
Party, took her to the street
In darkness, we had a race
I was to face the road running
She was to face it on her skateboard.
Like wind she glided past me
Sweeping my emotions with her.
But the skateboard stopped.
We laugh, I grab her hand and start
Running, pulling her like she is in danger
Like she needs me to.

In that moment running
Running besides her
Hair flourishing in the wind
But the road we travel isn't smooth
We keep stopping and starting
But we both know it will never start
So we stop. Bliss was among us
And among us now were the source of upset
Bliss has no place at the party
Bliss is free,
Like we should be.

I look to her and the laughter and
Excitement dissipates from the
Blue shine of her eyes.
The smile to a smirk,
A smirk for the realization,
She has to fix things.
But what she cant see is the perfection of herself

She thinks this party represents
her, a mess, a failure
But it represents the struggles
of everyone but her, even me
She and I did all to stop the fire
But you cant put out 40 fires with 2 buckets

We said our good byes the fires died out
As I hugged her,
And spoke to her she listened,
But she couldn't hear from so far,
Far away with her troubles.

I can feel it now.
The pain and upset that has been caused
But I'm not the one she wants,
To fix it.
I'm the one who needs someone,
To help.
