How I write about 'em and think of 'em

How should I write about men?
Thousands of years old, or maybe a few centuries,
Not quite the gits and shits
Fucking, drinking, swearing, shitting round today.
Oh no, definitely no.
Great edifices of gentlemaenly behaviour
- the type that say 'what ho!'
as a way of polite greeting
(Rather than a crude insulting treatment of women)
while their muttonstache stands firm in the face of fear.
Heroes of legend in artificed armour
- who wage epic wars
as their spears thrust and parry
with the noble enemy
(Rather than in some drunk big titted blonde being raped)
while remembering to do homage to the gods.
The architects of history
- the ones that design grand cities
or fund revolutionary machines
(Not 'revolutionary' porn movies and banal bombastic films)
while the next dawn rises at their command.
Scholars and Intellectuals true
- the great thinkers
who fight for equal rights, democracy and fair law
using their influence and power openly
(Not in petty televised politics to cover up corruption)
while they act as they preach and tactfully hide their desires.

Bring back the men of the past I cry,
and accept the homosexuals
As todays men aren't men: they're just bastards.

Luckily a few of the dead men have yet to die.
