Dillon
he saw the dark thoughts roll in
put up his umbrella
and they fell to the ground
tears fell and he forgot
about why he loved her
then they made puddles
in his heart
and started filling up to the walls
he remembered
he could not paddle
he could not swim
trying to speak
his teeth grinding and churning
swirling and trying not to fly away
the birds nested in his chest
the doves in his heart
his body an open garden
his love an open field
his name written on the ground
his foot prints across the sky
he whispered her name
she only whispered goodbye
put up his umbrella
and they fell to the ground
tears fell and he forgot
about why he loved her
then they made puddles
in his heart
and started filling up to the walls
he remembered
he could not paddle
he could not swim
trying to speak
his teeth grinding and churning
swirling and trying not to fly away
the birds nested in his chest
the doves in his heart
his body an open garden
his love an open field
his name written on the ground
his foot prints across the sky
he whispered her name
she only whispered goodbye
