Does My Bum Look Big Enough In This?
Status, please.
How do you compare?
Petty stage played in name of love
or lack thereof
such sad displays of vanity.
Ah, sweet Vanity
the downfall of humanity;
We often see but blur
beyond our current states of care.
Narcissus,
(were he available)
would treat himself
to an approving gaze
as he turned to admire
the taut,
magnificent
collective arse
we have become.

butt...

needs a picture :)
(of course a plain bum picture would be too literal, and,
actually, would not fit the metaphor. so... what would be
a good picture to go along with the poem?)

I still can't find a suitable image for this! do we really have to get permissions?

Another lovely piece, Jestalessa, honest and controversial. Very well done, as for the image - an arse with a Facebook tattoo =P

does my bum look big enough in this

And in the end, all that was left was vanity--yes, it is a true albeit sad commentary done in a playful and humorous way, but shouldn't the title read Does my bum look great in this? Or are you saying that the goal here is to become the biggest ass of humanity?

yeah, it's more to do with the collective. not the goal per se, but what's actually happening. i have a twisty (not twisted) way of putting things sometimes. i hope it didn't throw people off too much!
humanity is its own biggest ass

humanity is its own biggest ass.
the saving grace is 'collective'
p.s. the line: "we have all become"
would read better as: "we have become"
thank god for arses, where would we be without them?
not sure, but wouldn't it be a bitch not to sit?

Ah, thank you kindly for your attention to this wee oldie. The photo is definitely the tippity top end of vanity, but I'm afraid I've seen it posted on a 'poem' by someone I can't abide, and, in my psychologically blocked state, can't bring myself to use it. Haha
Thank you again for taking the time to leave your thoughts [:
