"I took in Life"

I heard it today, such
a wonderful thing
As I stepped-out of
the house, the song-
birds did sing
I had never slowed-
down long enough to
muse on their
sweet refrain

I saw it today as I
walked quietly
Life all around me in
a facsimile cause deep
down inside we're all
the same
All have dreams, all
scheme and all think
what it would be like
to be free and soar
above everything

I smelled it today as
I inhaled deeply, the
earth in the air, the
aroma of its breath
deeply absorbed into
the lungs in my chest
It puts-off marvelous
intoxicants that fill
my head like nutrients

So I discerned that
all around me is life
in abundance and life
that is redundant but
evolving so that what
once was will be done
again
