swim?

cool and inviting
her waves call me in
licking my ankles
and pulling my skin

come fly like a dream bird
slow, languid and free
lost, found and floating
in the mouth of the sea

her kiss how it quenches
the fire of the sun
and quickens a hunger
for the swim just begun

I stroke at the surface
half wet and gliding
the shimmering surface
her secrets are hiding

come fly like a dream bird
slow, languid and free
lost, found and floating
in the mouth of the sea

I plunge to the depths
legs thrusting behind me
wet rush of silence
and the dream bird breaks free

how new seems the ocean
each time I take flight
dim liquid soul cave
wet womb of delight

come fly like a dream bird
slow, languid and free
lost, found and floating
in the mouth of the sea

life glitters around me
alive but unknown
bright flashes of silver
no longer alone

can I fly to the bottom?
and find out what's there
soft, sharp or soothing
shall I beware?

come fly like a dream bird
slow, languid and free
lost, found and floating
in the mouth of the sea
