Untittled trials
Everyone's your enemy, everyone's your friend;
Watch your mouth, watch your back;
Smile. Nod. Pretend..
Pretend that I don't see you walking feircly to your class;
once together, then just friends,
now silently we pass..
Missing who we used to be,
wishing to go back.
Playing cat and mouse, you see,
but now I'm losing track.
You've already given up, but yet,
through dreams I try.
Wanting, yearning, needing freedom to fly.
My broken wings that once were mended
have faded and dried out
The song that used to fill the sky's
has crumpled, now gone flat.
The song that used to fill the eyes
with joy and happy tears;
has suddenly stopped playing,
leaving bird to face her fears.
Watch your mouth, watch your back;
Smile. Nod. Pretend..
Pretend that I don't see you walking feircly to your class;
once together, then just friends,
now silently we pass..
Missing who we used to be,
wishing to go back.
Playing cat and mouse, you see,
but now I'm losing track.
You've already given up, but yet,
through dreams I try.
Wanting, yearning, needing freedom to fly.
My broken wings that once were mended
have faded and dried out
The song that used to fill the sky's
has crumpled, now gone flat.
The song that used to fill the eyes
with joy and happy tears;
has suddenly stopped playing,
leaving bird to face her fears.
