Holding on
You called my name
From a distance
I heard your quiet whisper
I seen your beauty fade
Like the sunset just before dusk
What we had wasn't fiction
There was no fairytale
It was true love in essence
Til I became abhorrent to you
I wonder what voice you heard
When I called out your name
From the distance
Was I not the one who fit your future imagination?
You jilt me, you reject me, how could this be happening?
As my heart beats rapidly
I close my eyes
And imagine me
Close to you again
I pretend that everything is ok
And that we're still together
Even til the very end
From a distance
I heard your quiet whisper
I seen your beauty fade
Like the sunset just before dusk
What we had wasn't fiction
There was no fairytale
It was true love in essence
Til I became abhorrent to you
I wonder what voice you heard
When I called out your name
From the distance
Was I not the one who fit your future imagination?
You jilt me, you reject me, how could this be happening?
As my heart beats rapidly
I close my eyes
And imagine me
Close to you again
I pretend that everything is ok
And that we're still together
Even til the very end
