You
To whom it may concern,
I was never good enough for you.
I never belonged in your world.
I was always too ugly and too fat.
My eyes were too big.
I smiled too much.
I smelled funny.
I was too much of a nerd.
I found somewhere that I would be appreciated.
I found somewhere to showcase uniqueness.
I found someone to love my flaws.
I found a world where being me was the only thing that matters.
I’m making a damn good salary doing just what you said I shouldn’t.
To whom it may concern,
I saw your smiles but heard your words.
I felt your hand holding mine
While the other held the knife buried in my back.
I lived as a friend to you and you were only a friend to my face.
You were with me in word and in body but you left me a long time ago for others.
I learnt that it was not as difficult as I thought to walk alone.
I understood people even more.
I now know that being alone is not bad.
You taught me how to be my own friend.
I now teach others the same and have a damn good time doing just that.
To whom it may concern,
You were never popular.
You were never understood.
You were never accepted.
You were never noticed publicly.
You were always there.
Your eyes were always a light to guide me.
Your heart was always filled with goodness.
Your lips always spoke kindness and your hands fashioned love.
You will never be forgotten.
I now know that I should never lose hope.
You taught me what friendship means.
,
Thank you for the life lessons.
I simply say to whom it may concern.
You know yourselves.
I’m taking you to Australia for a vaca.
I was never good enough for you.
I never belonged in your world.
I was always too ugly and too fat.
