Took generations of homo's for me to exist
Odd as it may sound
My existance was made possible
By several different homos
That scowled the earth
Long before my sapien kind came along
Several steps were footed between ape and man
A variety of primitive primates
Each new specie equiped with an increase in brain size
The evolutionary process
In which, there's change through gain and loss
No clean slates
Just manipulating a picture that already exists
The existance of you and I
Truly the greatest of all lotteries, all races, and all stories
To ever be had or told
We are winners!
Sheer Odds and Numbers
The chances of ME existing:
Thinking about my great great great grandparents travel from Germany, Ireland, and Italy.
Each side of my family moved from around the world to a similar location ( New York )
They each had children, who later had children of there own
Eventually my parents were lucky enough to be born
Considering all the males and females (potential mates) that were around the same age as my parents when they grew up
The chances of my mother and my father comming into contact with eachother, then liking eachother enough to form a relationship.
Considering all the moves that were necessary for my parents to meet and later fornicate... the odds of me existing seem slim to none
But it happened!
I was shot out during an orgasm my father had
My father has obviously shot out ALOT of loads, but half of me(23 chromosomes) was LUCKY enough to be shot out during the orgasm that ultimatley led to conception.
My mother released half of me (23 chromosomes) just as she had been doing steadily for years since she was around 11.
But this time her egg, (half of myself) happened to be fertilized by the other half of myself.
O yeah, I forgot the fact that I beat between 3 and 5 million of my potential brothers and sisters (sperm contestants) in a race to the prize (the egg) AKA my other half.
Then I overcame all the potential deadly obsticles of pregnancy
It was a delicate time for me
Astonishing Chemistry and Biology took place
I developed a heart
That still beats today
Essential organs were formed
Complexity beyond creativity
Beauty beyond comprehension
Connectivity beyond words
I survived the birth cannal
I took my first breath of air
I thrived
I grew
I grow
I learned
I learn
I Loved
I Love
I was Loved
I am Loved
Talk about timing
Took billions of years of evolving
And eventually came down to the trilla second in which I ripped through the egg like a christmass present and unwrapped my other half to start forth this miracle known as life
This was nothing short of magic
Mystery remains
Not all is known
Some questions of "how" are still being studied today
And the infamous "why are we here",and "Where are we going"
Well these questions are best left to the indiviual who's asking them to answer them
With these questions we are all theorists
In fact
That's part of the greatness to it all
We are part of it
A story still being written
Don't need to solve the life equation to adore its beauty and bask in its glory
For today
Realizing that I am already the winner of the most immportant race of my life
Is great enough
To say I am extremely lucky is an understatement
I am humbled and grateful to all who came before me
And all who made my existance possible
From single cell organisms to my mom and dad and all inbetween
My existance was made possible
By several different homos
That scowled the earth
Long before my sapien kind came along
Several steps were footed between ape and man
