A Crazy lil Thing called...

LOVE...

Some people,  only know love
for a moment

then as fast as it comes,
it's blown away

if ever you find yourself in love,
those emotions, own it

it's  a true fact
you're not promised another day

Some people, choke-hold onto love for years
still, time has a way,  of lulling love to sleep
be careful if you simmer in this, "they'll leave me soon
I know" fear because,  it can be quite possible if it leaves,
now the price to pay  is too steep

Some people get blessed with love for a lifetime
yet, what no one thinks of, is that pitfalls and heartbreaks abound

and it isn't  til reflections peer into hindsight's  window
that love, no matter long it stays, you could find yourself looking around

so accept love's hand,  for it's worth one's time  
ever aware there's  never a limit on how long it stays,
nor when it'll ever go away...
