It Used To Be An Art

Pay attention!
Hip hop changed quick
Talk about the same thing and still make hits
Take away the spiritual
For they became rich
Back then it was lyrical
And it made sense
Where is the originality it came with?
Clearly
Individuality has faded
Everybody sounds the same
Brag about their women count and chains
A man would lose his soul just to gain the world in vain
Such a shame man
When did extra instruments come?
I'm old school
All I need is bass, piano and drums
Hip hop lost identity
Most people don't notice
I wouldn't be rapper
I am strictly a poet
I don't care about the fame and if my diamonds are glowing
If I had the biggest name or my lyrics were quoted
Hip hop gave hope and inspiration
Now that it's gone
We don't want to see us make it
