Raymond (Past Lives)
No oceans will matter
No distance will register
These miles mean nothing
You’re my stranger
No words can be uttered
To repair countless cracks
I’ll never see comfort
You will wash your hands and wonder
Time will never heal
Tears will be forgotten
Lives will stretch for longer
Than I ever could imagine
Our differences don’t echo
No words are ever muttered
No hands are ever shaken
No sorry's ever uttered
I wish we could smile and see
The crimson ache its caused
Such losses endured
Your silence is deafening.
What is a man to another.
A friend?
An enemy?
Just a ghost in the crowd
Brother.
