Little Fairy
I hold you softly inside the palm of my hand,
To not damage your delicate and beautiful wings.
I look at the smooth color of your skin,
As your eyes stare up at me like little diamonds.
You shiver and tremble in fear as I look down on you,
But I half smile and tell you that I won’t hurt you.
I place you gently on my bed as I kneel on the side,
Your frightened little soul runs behind a pillow to hide.
I try to be pleasing in a way you won’t be frightened,
But your small body is trembling with fear every time I get near.
I stay there motionless looking at your every detail,
The wonders on my face so priceless.
I have no idea how I came to find you,
So small in such an outsized world.
Every minute that passes you gain a little confidence,
You start to not fear as much as you do.
My face now on the edge of my bed as I’m on the side,
You slowly walk up to me with your little feet.
Your tiny hands reach to my cheeks,
You smile softly as the warmth of your little palms stroke now the side of my face.
You look at me beautifully and softly say in enchanting words,
“I have no idea how you came to find me, so small in such an outsized world”
To not damage your delicate and beautiful wings.
I look at the smooth color of your skin,
As your eyes stare up at me like little diamonds.
