The tale of Anne Boleyn - A temptress and a whore or a woman of ill fate?

A young girl came to court
Returned from the Kingdom of France
Of style and grace
And fair of face
She led him a Merry dance

She teased the smitten King
But yet she would not give
She danced the dance
And sang the song
A ring would make her his

She whispered poisoned words
About his Catholic wife
''Get rid of her and I’ll be yours
We shall have a splendid life''

She promised him love for ever
Many children she said she’d bear
A daughter came along
But not a male heir

Some said she was a witch
A temptress and a whore
The King began to believe
When no living male she bore

They said she had 6 fingers
Disfigured with warts and boils
They said she bore a monster
From her brothers loins

The King was poisoned again
With treasonous talk it’s said
His wretched wife
Anne Boleyn
Was now to lose her head

Roaming the bloody tower
Carrying her head around
Some hear screams and wails
Her endless haunting sounds

A most remembered historical figure
Henry’s second wife
The witch, the whore and temptress
Changed the Church’s life

If it wasn’t for this woman
Catholics we would all still be
So remember Anne Boleyn
Changing religious history
