The Truth about Ugliness
It does not go
without saying
that everything
we use
as standards
and conventions
are in fact
abstractions.
None of it
is real
or objective
or natural.
The entire project
is made up
and not one dogma
survives under inspection.
So,
the idea
that there is
some idea
of beauty
that is not met
by all
or that anyone
has to,
is a cruel joke
played on us
by the insecure
and impotent.
A scar
is an eyeliner
and a challenge
is smile.
Everyone
is lovable
to someone.
Everyone
has some sort
of inclusion
or liability
or stain
or corruption
in the eyes
of those
who look
for such things.
If you have the time
and inclination,
you can find
unhappiness
anywhere.
I just don't seem
to have
the fucking time
to dwell on it.
