Joy and Daisies
Why can't we learn to shut up and listen?
Why can't we understand what it's like to be in their position?
One day, perhaps, the world may see,
How pointless all this hatin' really can be.
We'll be treated like brothers,
Equals as equals,
You and me.
That will be the day,
When we open our hearts
And love one another
No matter their looks or their smarts.
I've seen it in my fantasies,
Along with other stuff.
We'll roll a fat cigar of joy and daisies
And one by one, we'll all take a puff.
Don't take it literally-
Things are not what they seem.
And it helps me imagine.
And it helps me dream.
