Middle Child Pleasures

Being a middle child there is just something about a house to yourself
And eating a snack no one else has gotten into
That makes you smile
When your alone with your parents and you can talk forever without being interrupted
The conversation reaching a halt because your unprepared for the attention and time granted
The glowing moment when you realize your the only one that likes this brand of cereal and it's all yours
Or when you've found a new hiding spot for almost anything
I feel that most middle children are like me,
Kinda quiet at home
Are more comfortable in the background of things
But when we do talk
And when we are heard
It's something
A view, you haven't seen yet
That brings perspective and complaint
We're not afraid of silence
And we enjoy the simple pleasures
Of middle child
