You think we’re all made of wood, and that is oh so clear.  
 
I did talk and yes you laughed, when Edgar pulled my string.  
You assumed through all those years that Edgar was the spring.  
 
Edgar threw his natural voice and made it sound like mine.  
Yet, all the thoughts that entered his, were thoughts I did assign.
