ROLE MODEL
He grew up not knowing who he is
No father to look to, not there to turn to
A major part of his life missing
Only flash backs in his head to cling to
An ache in his heart he doesn’t know how to fill
Needs a positive male figure to guide him right
His mother is doing the best she can
But only a man can teach him to be a man
Who but a strong black man
Can help him with the tribulations
Of being a black boy in this society
Educate his young mind to be strong
And not be lead astray
To stop him falling in to the traps that lay ahead
Help him stay on the right line
To educate his young mind
Because education is the key
A step up to be what he wants to be
Not just a stereotype in societies mind
Falling in to traps of jail or gun crime
The strong black men of our community
Needs to teach black youths
The most POWERFUL thing they can be
Is to be mentally free

Very eloquently said and done, natural...I'm just bothered by the fact that you specifically mentioned "black men." Any righteous man regardless of his color can teach the black youth his rightful place in society! (I respect your point of view, by the way)

The reason I mention Black men, is because in England right now.Black on Black crime has gone mad..Young black men killing each other daily..I am a mother of 4, 3 of which boys..so I'm not speaking from the outside I'm in it..And the truth is single parenting is high in the black community..Good or bad I speak the truth..And You say any righteous man can teach the black youth his rightful place in society.Your right to a point..but who feels it knows it..I believe if your fighting the same struggle you will come at them from a different place..rather just speaking from the outside in..Thank you for reading anyway.

Interesting Ink Natural! I can feel where you wanted this ink to go because it took me there.
It's good to relate Role Models to our own race. It's also awesome to leave out race and look for greatness, character, courage, morals, etc.....found in any Good man Or Woman that can add betterment to our young men of all colors!
My son was only two when his father died, killed in the line of duty. Been a single parent raising him until five years ago when I married. My son is now 20 years old and it took a village of all colors to groom him into a positive figure and young man in society. Xoxo
Oh and a whole lot of praying helped too! :)
Thought provoking and awesome ink!
Pens Up~ Xo

I feel TOTAL shame in missing this GEM of an ink n in KNOWING that your story is like many in the black community, far too sad to just do nothing but
unfortunately that's what continues to happen
I don't gave a son, always wanted one n if I did I'd go to my grave trying everyday to help him understand what it is to live in this "Black Skin" n how to live righteously
n force he betterment of society, NOT a detriment to it.
Taking NOTHING away from any other race
It truly is Different teaching a promising black child, how to become a GOOD Black Man. Outstanding ink lady!
