My Enemy
my sweet slumber
where silk petal sheets
and peaceful promises
once played blissful lullaby's
now ceases her
silent serenity
and relinquishes her place
of powerful escape
my desired freedom
where once
a parallel universe
spun no sorrow
is now replaced with
despair packed pillows
of a swallowed past
they slither in
like Eve's serpent
and prosper off my fears
no force strong enough
to fight my lids from closing
like cell doors
they hold me prisoner
of my memories
and leave me with out choice
but to wave my white flag
I surrender

No, a defeatist attitude is never the answer. We get laid low by life's bullsh*t and sometimes we will wallow in selfpity or simply in agony from the hurt, but once you can breath again, stick your hand up and give it the middle finger and a rotund F*ck you to all that mess and rise stronger for it.

Lol, I agree. I am never one to be or feel defeated, ever. However, when you sleep, you sleep, and when you dream, you dream...no matter good or bad, and I don't see much choice in that matter, than to just let it happen.
Thanks for your encouragement! :D

Awww, I was grooving your "Shakespearean mush" of recent! lol
Unless my perception meter is out of sync, you mention in the first line, "my sweet slumber" and then color the frustration of losing it with strong imagery.
I am thankful to have never had insomnia or sleep issues. I have had a great change to my sleep pattern the last few months and LOVE IT.

Aww, yes...the "Shakespearean mush" will be an eternal thing from now on. However, I still love the therapy of writing and will let it out from time to time.
I am glad you are enjoying your new sleep pattern. A good balance between happy sleep and happy wake time is great soul food.
Thanks for getting it, and for sharing your thoughts!

Oh, I like. Nothing worse when your dreams turn against you and you think too much during sleep.
