My Life... (So far)
My life has been a rollercoaster
rocky, up and down, has mainly
consisted of learning how to let go,
has been realizing that I would cross
oceans for people who wouldn’t jump
over puddles for me, but it has also
been finding out that alone doesn’t
have to mean lonely and I must be
strong as a pillar and soft as a pillow
for the sake of my sanity,
and knowing how to see something
good in every sunrise and a silver lining
in every cloud, that mole hills do not have
to turn into mountains, that I can move on
from the things that make me sad, turn
away, close the door, sit in silence,
even if the people I love do not love me,
even when everything goes wrong and
I am certain that this is rock bottom,
I want to rise like a phoenix from the
ashes, realizing burning does not
always mean destruction, that I will
be alright with time and some sunlight,
and the world keeps turning whether
I am prepared to keep living or not.
